Robyn Rihanna Fenty popularly known as Rihanna is a Barbadian singer-songwriter who gave us hit songs such as Pon de Replay SOS Umbrella and Take a Bow. Rihanna is an extremely well-known artist who has sold over 41 million albums around the world and more than 150 million songs. Born in Barbados she was raised listening to reggae music, and began singing when she was quite young. As a result of the chaos that surrounded her family and the fights her parents were having, she decided to take up music. She soon decided that she would like to become an artist. When she was in high-school she formed group and performed to be a part of Evan Rodgers. Evan Rodgers was amazed by her talents. His request was that the teenager move in New York and pursue a singing career full-time. Rihanna was thrilled to accept. Rihanna quickly became a star after her debut release. The singer was popular among youngsters for her uplifting and foot-tapping songs. This led to Rihanna becoming a director. Young and talented, Rihanna is now regarded as both a teen-idol and fashion icon. Rihanna puts her fame into great use through being engaged in a variety of charitable causes
