Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexual orientation. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was through the instrument of trumpet. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. The focus on music until she graduated. After gaining viral fame through the Internet and her own track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits, such as body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The final track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered many major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
